Profound alternatives for small teams
When Profound is the better pick (enterprise contracts, 9 AI engines) and when a small team on a small budget fits Soarce's free scan and outreach help better.
Who wrote this
Soarce wrote this page, and Soarce competes with Profound. We've tried to be fair: every fact about Profound below comes from its own pricing page, checked Oct 2, 2026, and we say plainly when Profound is the better pick.
The short answer
Profound is built for large companies. If you need wide coverage across many AI engines and you can sign an enterprise contract, it's a strong choice. If you're a small team with a small budget, and you want someone to tell you which lists to get on (or do that outreach for you), a lighter option will fit better.
When Profound is the better pick
- You're an enterprise. Profound's pricing page shows a free trial and an Enterprise plan. Enterprise is custom-priced through sales.
- You need many engines. Enterprise covers 9 engines, including ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Copilot, Claude, Google AI Overviews and DeepSeek. Soarce checks 4: ChatGPT, Google AI Mode, Gemini and Perplexity.
- You want a daily tracking platform. The trial alone gives 50 prompts a day for 7 days with unlimited seats. A customer quoted on its site calls it the "deepest and most complete tool".
- The assistants already trust it. When we scanned our own category on Oct 2, 2026, Profound was recommended in 109 of 224 answers. It was on 8 of the 10 lists the assistants cited, and #1 on 4.
When Soarce fits
- Your budget is small. Profound had no public self-serve price as of Oct 2, 2026. Soarce's scan is free, about 250 answers per scan, one scan per site each month.
- You want the outreach list done. Soarce's report ends with the pages to get on: the roundups and reviews the assistants cited when they picked a rival, ranked by how many rivals they name.
- You want someone to do the work. The done-for-you pilot is free for the first 10 companies. Rajan, the founder, pitches 5 lists for you himself, then re-scans for a 30-day early read and a 60-day comparison.
- You're an agency. Branded client reports cost $49 or $149 a month. See agency plans.
One honest caveat: Soarce is new. In our own scan on Oct 2, 2026, Soarce was recommended in 0 of 224 answers. We're fixing that in public, with the same steps we sell. See how to get recommended by ChatGPT.
